Our Mission ....

Though almost a dozen more centres of higher education with faculties of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences were established in the country in the past decades, the Faculty of Arts at Peradeniya remains the major centre of higher learning and research in these areas in Sri Lanka.

The vision of the Faculty of Arts is excellence. in education, research, and creative thinking in the Social Sciences and Humanities for the betterment of individuals and society. Its mission is to produce a graduate who is committed to the advancement of knowledge through critical and independent scholarship, and imbued with human qualities and a sense of duty toward society.
